To celebrate the start of the new academic year, RMeS is organizing an afternoon of talks and discussions on the theme of “Impactful Media”. Together with several renowned speakers, including Dr Simone van der Burg (Waag) and Professor Jeroen de Kloet, we will think about the future of media and media research, as well as the meaning of impact for media studies. What is the impact of digitalization on the public sphere? How has our collective experience of media changed in recent years because of this? How can researchers impact the shape of the media technological landscape, and what are the challenges in doing so?
We invite PhD candidates and RMA students to join us in kicking off the new academic year on 6 October 2023 between 15:00 and 17:00 in the Theaterzaal at Muntstraat 2A, Utrecht. After the talks and roundtable discussion end at 17:00, we will enjoy free drinks in the adjacent foyer.
