Diantha Vliet wins the Emerging Scholars Competition in Black European Studies!

With a book proposal based on her dissertation on the discourse of the Black Pete discussion and the relationship between memory, nation and racism in the Netherlands, Diantha Vliet has won the Emerging Scholars Competition in Black European Studies. Vliet will rewrite her research ‘Postcolonial Pete: Race, Media, and Memory in the Politics of Dutch Identity’ into a book, which will be published as part of the Imagining Black Europe series by the international scientific publisher Peter Lang.
